What to Expect

Initial contact:

We will have a 15 minute phone consultation to discuss your needs, my services, costs, etc. and to set up your intake appointment.

You will be sent documents to complete and return prior to our first session including:

  • HIPPA Privacy Notice
  • Informed Consent for Treatment
  • Office Policies
  • Background Information
  • Credit Card on File
  • Emergency Contact

Initial Intake Appointment:

The first appointment looks different than follow-up appointments. During this time we will review your history so I can get a synopsis of your life story. We will also discuss your current concerns and what has led you to seek therapy. Lastly, we will begin identifying your goals for treatment. With the information reviewed at your first appointment, we can determine if my services are aligned with your needs. If after the intake I feel that another clinician would be a better fit for you OR if you feel that I cannot provide the particular support you are looking for, we can work together to find you a more suitable referral.

Follow Up Appointments:

Appointments are scheduled weekly or every other week, depending on your need. We will revisit your treatment goals to see if we are still on a path that YOU feel is important and effective. We can address issues as they come up and continue to go back to your goals.

Whether you are coming for a specific problem and intend therapy to be short-term or you have ongoing concerns, I value your feedback. I will always be open to hearing how you think your treatment is going and be eager to redirect as needed.
